Chasen (Tea whisk)

Chasen is one of the tea utensils used for preparing matcha in the tea ceremony or drinking.

We highly recommend to use the Chasen stand.

Suggestions:

  • For the beginners: 100 pondate / 80 pondate
  • Usucha: 120 pondate 100 pondate / 80 pondate / kazuho / shin kazuho
  • Koicha: kazuho / shin kazuho / chuaraho

The chasen is a consumable item and will eventually need to be replaced, depending on factors such as frequency of use, handling, and storage conditions.

Storage Method:
After each use, rinse the chasen gently with clean water and place it on a chasen holder to maintain its shape and keep it dry.
Allow it to air dry thoroughly in a well-ventilated area, avoiding direct sunlight.
Store it in a cool, dry place with minimal temperature and humidity fluctuations.
Bamboo products may develop cracks if exposed to excessive dryness or drastic temperature and humidity changes, but they can generally still be used.
