Tsujiki Matcha TSUJIKI Reserve Blend
100% Uji, Kyoto–grown tencha
A gently flavored matcha ideal for everyday enjoyment, made primarily from the Samidori cultivar.
It offers a soft, refined umami with a mellow richness that pairs beautifully with Western desserts and matcha lattes.
Recommended uses:
Tea ceremony and drinking (usucha) / premium beverages and desserts
This authentic matcha is grown in Tsuji’s own tea gardens.
The tea farmer has received awards at the National Tea Competition of Japan.
In addition, Tsuji’s matcha is selected and used by many renowned tea houses and pastry shops across Japan.
About Tsuji (Tsuji-sensei):
A Uji tea farmer in Kyoto, Tsuji-sensei is one of Japan’s leading tencha growers and producers.
Over the years, teas cultivated from his gardens have won numerous top regional and national awards, including the Kansai Tea Competition and the National Tea Competition.
Only carefully selected organic fertilizers are used, providing the tea plants with roughly twice the nutrients of typical tea gardens, allowing them to accumulate a deeper umami.
To preserve freshness, harvesting is carried out step by step under a 95% shading rate—about 10% higher than the average.
Following traditional Uji cultivation methods, the tea is harvested only once a year.
During the harvest season, every leaf is hand-picked with the utmost care by skilled tea harvesters.
